Hemingway, Steinbeck, Fitzgerald, Rand, Salinger…. I am not. Rather an engineer by trade, I have decided to do two things that are uncharacteristic of myself and the common engineer. The first is to take a “time out” from my normal and happy life, so that I may travel, see, and experience the world. The second is to keep a public journal, via this blog, that I will use to share various details of my trip with you. Believe it or not, the first may actually be easier than the second, as its hard to argue with anyone on the merits of taking time to see the world, and once that decision has been made than you are off and running. But as for the second, it will be based on many variables, including: state of mind, the experience, and ones ability to communicate their thoughts and feelings, keeping in mind at least in this case that the storyteller will be yours truly, an engineer. I make no promises that my travel logs will be funny, amusing, entertaining, eloquent, or even frequent, as a matter-of-fact: I would bet against it, and if you know me, I do dabble with a few bets from time to time. With that said, my intentions are to share with you the path of my journey, and to the best of my ability my experience. So now its time to pack the bags, forward the mail, buy that one-way ticket, and we are off and running…
